You end up finishing the game with the MM on that one, but the other two Factions are your friends as well. It's a semi-complicated thing but there's walkthroughs and such on YouTube for that ending. There is an ending of sorts where you will have the Railroad, Brotherhood, and Minutemen still alive and kicking AND willing to give you all their radiants. Not sure with Nuka World if you can get locked out of the MM, but I think if you go back and kill everyone to do that quest, Preston will be your buddy again. You can always finish the game with the Minutemen. Can't remember where the breakoff point is for those two questlines as far as the Institute side of things goes.
The thing is, as you progress down the various faction plot lines, eventually each and every one of the four factions is going to force to betray another one, possibly two of the others. Whichever one you choose, those are the only options you'll have for the endgame. In fact, you are tacitly encouraged to join all four of them. The Mass Fusion quest makes you either Railroad/Institute/Minutemen or Minutemen/Brotherhood.
The Nuclear Option quest with another faction.You can join and work with every single group, but at one point it becomes one group OR The Institute. However, if you wish to see their ending, you cannot start Minutemen is the only faction who is not a target of hostility from any of the other factions, meaning that you can do any of the other factions' quest chain without alienating them, unless you do something specifically to them to make them hostile to your presence.
The game will prompt you prior to making 1 of these decisions. Quests order if you are trying to complete as many of the quests as possible during one playthrough. Spend some time getting to know each faction and their motivations before committing to their cause.Ĭompleting the quests specified in the Factions Hostile Towards sections below will cause any of the remaining quests of the now hostile faction to fail/become unavailable. At some point in the main story progression, you will have to choose alliance to 1 at the expense of the others. Your alliance to one of the 4 major factions will determine a significant portion of the story and This is a list of the factions in the game.
